Mt Ruhapehu Toilet Project Update March 2012

The project team have been working furiously to get the black water situation sorted out before the ski season
starts.

We were unable to locate any working drawings of either the lodge or the septic tank system through 2011. This meant a team had to go up to the lodge in January this year and take detailed measurements of the lodge, septic system and various piping systems.

Our Architect recently completed the drawings and as a result we have put in application for resource consent to discharge grey water into the existing septic system. This application is currently with the Department of Conservations Regional Programme Manager for signing off.

The Building Consent process has already started. Once we receive sign off on the Resource Consent from DOC we will lodge both Resource and Building consents. We expect, all going well to have both of these consents back late March early April.

We are currently looking at roof penetration of the Mt Ruhapehu lodge to install the flue system for the gas incineration toilet system in the coming weeks, in preparation and ahead of the impending weather
changes. This will allow us to continue to install the new system irrespective of the weather conditions.
